Walt Liles

Walt Liles is the current President of The North Atlanta Rail Barons. He is an excellent modeler and teacher. Walt has presented clinics at the Division, Region and National levels of the NMRA on subjects ranging from "Woodchips, The Paper Industry, and Railroads", "Railroads and The Kaolin Industry", to "Improving the Performance of Athern Diesel Locomotives."

Recently, he has cleared his garage, installed new insulated garage doors, and is about to begin a new version of his railroad.

In addition, Walt is a member of North Georgia Modu-Rail, and has built several great modules including the corner module featuring a coal mine (pictured on the Trains, Trains, Trains! page) and a double module that represents a containerized freight yard.

Walt currently serves as Director of Operations and Chairman of the Volunteer Committee of the Piedmont Division, Southeastern Region, National Model Railroad Association, Inc. Since his full-time job requires him to travel a lot, he is also a rabid railfan and has the pictures to prove it. Perhaps we can persuade him to share some of them here.
